Group Therapy Program
Group therapy is an extremely powerful tool that facilitates long-term growth and change.
The effectiveness of group therapy is based on the ability of all members to receive support, obtain unique perspectives, and learn how to manage anxiety when challenged. Clients are encouraged to participate in the group process and provide feedback to other group members in a confidential, safe and supportive environment.
At The Fourmula, different types of groups are utilized based on the needs of the client:
- Psychoeducational groups are educational groups in which specific topics are presented, applied and discussed by group members.
- Process or Psychotherapy groups are insight oriented, and the focus is on expressing feelings, thoughts and experiences in the group.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups are designed to assist clients in developing new functional behaviors by changing thoughts, perceptions and beliefs. By giving up negative beliefs the client is free to use positive thinking which in turn facilitates healthy behavior.
